“The ones who learn to mirror best / Are those no one will know” is such a strong line because it shifts the whole poem from fantasy into something painfully human. You can feel how much Shadow wants connection, even while believing the real her could never be loved directly.
I also really liked the sing-song rhythm against the sadness underneath. It feels almost like a nursery rhyme someone would whisper to children, except the deeper truth of it gets heavier as it goes on.
