I felt that one in my bones being an emo kid myself (way back when). I loved the social commentary. It was really well done and your prose is always so lush. The rhythm is particularly good in this one. The tension, just as much.
The sad hungry wanting in this felt way too real... which made the ending hit harder for me because it is not just horror, it is the ache of wanting to be remade by the coolest girl in the room...
Wow, this is sooo intense and captivating! The way you describe the protagonist’s journey and the allure of Rhea is so vivid and relatable. The transformation and the eerie atmosphere of the coven meeting are chillingly well-crafted!!
Love it, creepy and sad. Definitely reminded me of being a lonely teenager, watching the cool goth weirdos (with love) on MySpace and wishing I was like them.
It's really sad because what makes someone interesting is them being exactly who they are. I can imagine Rhea being hungry when no one shows up as real and fully within themselves. All you have to go off of are the crumbs of how you impact other people, but you don't really exist in the equation as a full person. You will forever be hungry.
I see her more as an ancient entity (she's named after a titaness, and I briefly referenced Lamia) that is predatory and has updated its methods from old temple ritual to trolling on 4chan for sad girl sacrifices.

Thank you so much! I'm really glad it landed. ☺️🖤
Right there with ya babe, but I called myself “goth” 😂
Semantics were particularly important back then. 😂

Thank you so much. You really understood what I was going for and I love that it resonated. 🖤

So good! All the nostalgic feels and a captivating tale.🖤
Thank you so much! 🖤
Dark and brilliant! Oooh….. loved that at the end!
Thank you!!
You're welcome! I'm actually just about to put mine up!
Does anyone else feel compelled to share a photo of their “emo” phase here?
I’m having a nostalgic pang of lament for all of the photos of my formidable years that are lost in the abyss of MySpace after reading this one😂
Bahaha. I love it.
Excellent! I was so drawn in. Truly loved it!
Thank you so much!

Exactly that. This piece is very much a call to be yourself authentically.
Which part is confusing you?
🤣 A totally fair reaction.
